Pacific Northwest Cannabis Archives

Video Archives

One of the main goals of the HomeGrown Stories Project is to preserve cannabis historical records and interviews in a museum or archives so these stories and materials can be enjoyed and researched. Seattleā€™s Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) is interested in working with local museums throughout the Pacific NW to share information and resources collected by the HomeGrown Stories Project.

The video clips in this preliminary archives were edited from approximately 2 hours of recordings, which took place between December 5, 2015 and February 26, 2016. These brief interviews with seven early growers were conducted to obtain material that could be used to promote the project and preview the information and personalities that the HomeGrown Stories Project will record and preserve. For research and entertainment purposes, I have created edits that show how this tremendous amount of information could be organized: by individuals, by various topics, by geographic areas or by combining in a more documentary style like the Sizzle Reel.

The photos and documents contained in these videos are from some of the participants, who took the chance to save these important materials even though at one time might have been evidence that they were involved in illegal activities.
